Konstantinos Stragalinos is a director, screenwriter, and producer with internationally awarded film work. He directed, wrote, and co-produced the feature film The Big Father. He has also created award-winning short films (“De Architectura,” “Check In,” “Invidia,” “Sto Kentro,” etc.). Ninos Mikelidis describes Konstantinos Stragalinos’s directing style as characterized by “irony, dark humor, a Buñuelian tone, and a Cassavetes-like gaze,” highlighting a creator with “sincerity, immediacy, inventiveness, drive, and passion.” His work has been positively evaluated by critics including Alexis Dermentzoglou, Stratos Kersanidis, Angelos Polydoros, Dimitris Panagopoulos, Giannis Krousinsky, and others. Stragalinos has received nominations and awards at international festivals (Los Angeles Culver City Film Festival, Panorama of European Cinema, Toronto COMMFFest, South-East European Film Festival, Santa Cruz Film Festival, etc.) as well as at Greek festivals (Thessaloniki, Drama, Cyprus, etc.). He has worked as a director in television and production companies (documentaries, music videos, and commercials). He graduated from the Athens Law School and studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts. He earned a master’s degree (MA) in Directing, Screenwriting, and Producing from the Northern Media School (UK, 2011), with a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY). He has served as a jury member at festivals, coordinator of film seminars at POFPA and film critic for websites. |
